According to information released by the Central Bank on Wednesday (7), R$ 7.07 billion remains to be claimed by individuals and corporations through the Receivables System. These amounts refer to funds not withdrawn from financial institutions and cooperatives.

The study shows that R$ 3.93 billion has already been refunded, of which the majority, R$ 2.94 billion, was returned to individuals. The remainder was made available to companies.

In view of this, approximately 4.5 million Brazilians have funds available for withdrawal, with amounts ranging from R$ 100 to R$ 1,000.

How can I find out if I am entitled to receive money?

This year, access to the Receivables System was opened on March 7. According to the Central Bank, approximately 38 million people and 2 million companies would benefit from the payments.

To check whether you are entitled to claim forgotten money, the process is quite straightforward. This must be done through the official Central Bank page. Then, simply provide your CPF number and date of birth.

Based on this information, the Receivables System will indicate whether the person has amounts available or not. If so, it is necessary to submit a request. This year, the consultation of information about deceased individuals was authorized by the entity.

Forgotten money

The forgotten money listed in the BC system may relate to various situations. Here are some of them:

  • Fees charged improperly;
  • Consortium funds;
  • Money in closed accounts;
  • Capital quotas;
  • Expenses from operations of credit.

With the system's release, the Central Bank warns of possible fraud related to the topic. The monetary authority emphasizes that there is only one way to carry out the consultation and that the procedure is completely free. Any advertisement suggesting otherwise should be ignored.
