Clean the stove burners

In general, dirty burners can obstruct the openings through which cooking gas flows, producing a weaker flame and, consequently, higher consumption. Therefore, don’t forget to check the burners and the oven, which may be covered with dough scraps or leftover food that fell during cooking.
Plan your meals for the entire week
Considering gas consumption, it is more beneficial to prepare meals in larger quantities, besides being more practical. Heat is better utilized in larger volumes, making it useful to plan the week’s meals and thus reduce cooking time and expense.
For example, when preparing soup or stew, use the vegetables, broths, and meats in other dishes. Steaming vegetables in several portions or baking several fish fillets in the oven is an excellent option. Reheating cooked food is more practical, faster, and more economical than starting from scratch each time.
Choose the right materials
It is important to understand a little physics in the kitchen. Jokes aside, know that some materials conduct heat more efficiently than others. In this regard, stainless steel pots and pans heat up quickly and retain heat better, resulting in lower cooking gas consumption compared to cast iron or aluminum ones. Designed to assist low-income citizens in purchasing cooking gas, the benefit is calculated based on the average price of a 13 kg cylinder. This is according to data collected by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) from retailers across the country.

To be eligible for the program, the interested family must be registered with CadÚnico and have a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage per person (R$ 660). In addition, the benefit also covers households whose members receive the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC) from the INSS.
Beneficiary selection is carried out by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and the Fight Against Hunger, the government agency responsible for social programs. Priority criteria are adopted, such as lower income, a greater number of family members, households headed by women, among others.
To enroll in CadÚnico, you must go to a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS). You must therefore present the personal documentation of all family members, along with proof of address and income. It is possible to complete a pre-registration through the Cadastro Único app (available for Android and iOS), expediting in-person service.
Cooking Gas Allowance payment schedule
In June, the Auxílio Gás program covered nearly 5.62 million families across the country, with a benefit of R$ 109 per family. The next schedule may vary according to inclusions and exclusions, with payments made during the last ten days of the month, according to the beneficiary's Social Identification Number (NIS).
