The Social Department recently issued a warning to Bolsa Família beneficiaries about a possible scam involving the next deposit. In this content, we will clarify the Pix scam associated with Bolsa Família, how to protect yourself, and where to find reliable information about the program. Stay vigilant and protect yourself from scams!

Understanding Bolsa Família

Bolsa Família, operated by the Federal Government, is an income transfer strategy designed to assist families in situations of social vulnerability. Comprising different subsidies, such as Renda de Cidadania, Complementar, and Primeira Infância, the program makes payments based on family composition and compliance with criteria related to income, health, and education.

In July, the average benefit was R$ 684.17, reaching approximately 20.9 million individuals. Beneficiary families must meet conditions related to income, school attendance, prenatal care, nutrition, and vaccination schedules to receive and maintain the assistance.

The Pix scam associated with Bolsa Família

With the recent changes to the Benefit, scams have proliferated, especially through messaging apps and social media. One of the most recent scams claims that the August payment will be made via Pix, together with the Basic Food Basket Aid.

However, the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) has debunked this information. The MDS instructs citizens not to click on links sent in such messages and to report any suspected scam attempts by calling 121 or contacting the MDS Ombudsman’s Office.
