Bolsa Família
The Ministry of Health also announced a second change to Farmácia Popular. From now on, users of the Bolsa Família program will be entitled to obtain any medication from the two lists free of charge. Unlike other citizens, they will have this privilege.
Thus, for Bolsa Família beneficiaries, there are not two lists, but only one. They will be able to obtain any of the medications mentioned above free of charge at a pharmacy in their city.
Bolsa Família is a social assistance program that serves just over 21 million Brazilians. These are people who live on less than R$ 218 per capita per month. The program makes minimum monthly payments of R$ 600 per family, but the amounts can exceed R$ 900 in some cases.
How to obtain medications through Farmácia Popular?
Whether you are a Bolsa Família beneficiary or not, the process for obtaining medications through Farmácia Popular is the same. It is not necessary to register directly to participate in the program. Simply find an accredited pharmacy and make the request.
Normally, establishments that partner with Farmácia Popular display a program seal on their façades, making them easier to identify.
To request the medication, it is important for citizens to have their personal documents with them, such as their ID and CPF, for example. In addition, it is also necessary to present a prescription provided by a professional from the Unified Health System (SUS) or from the private network.
