Caixa Econômica Federal celebrates milestones of the Debt Renegotiation Plan
Caixa Econômica Federal (CAIXA) announced TODAY (21), with optimism, milestones of the debt renegotiation program, Desenrola Brasil. In its ambitious start, CAIXA renegotiated more than R$ 51 million in debts in the first three days, benefiting more than 22,000 customers. In addition, Serrano announced the extension of the maximum payment term for renegotiated installments from 96 to 120 months, that is, ten years. Customers now have two choices: they can settle the debt with a 90% discount or split the amount into 120 installments.

The Desenrola Brasil program, created by the federal government, aims to renegotiate debts to reactivate consumption in the country and stimulate the economy. Economist Arthur Wittenberg believes that the renegotiation program benefits both individuals and companies, encouraging the return to credit and production in Brazil.
However, Wittenberg warns of the risk of over-indebtedness and the need for caution when choosing the 120-month term offered by Caixa.

In order to facilitate debt renegotiation, Caixa has adopted measures such as opening all branches one hour earlier for an extra hour of service. This measure aims to meet growing demand and allow customers more time to resolve their financial issues.
The branch is also innovating by making a mobile branch truck available at a strategic location in Santos [SP]. This initiative seeks to facilitate access to debt renegotiation through Desenrola Brasil for those who have difficulty accessing a branch.
