Canoas do Bem Project extended for another year
The Department of Animal Welfare decided to extend the benefits of the Canoas do Bem project for another year. This decision aims to provide new opportunities to residents of Canoas who have already participated in one of the project's four previous phases. To benefit, the individual must be over 60 years old or enrolled in one of the nine vocational courses available.
Fabiane Borba, Secretary of Animal Welfare, states that the extension aims to provide vocational course options for those who wish to continue receiving the benefit. The goal is to offer alternatives that enable members to increase or diversify their sources of income in different areas of work.
Vocational courses in the new phase
In the new stage of the Canoas do Bem project, members will be able to choose from nine vocational courses. The options include industrial sewing, fast-food cooking and pizza making, baking and confectionery, introduction to ceramic tile installation, bricklaying, building electrical work, manicure and pedicure, carpentry, and building painting.
Therefore, members will receive instruction from specialized teachers, as well as access to a complete set of teaching materials and personal protective equipment. They will also have all the infrastructure necessary to carry out the activities.
In-person meetings and the start of the courses
To inform members about the new stage of the Canoas do Bem project and enroll them in the courses, SMBEA held in-person meetings in different areas of the city. Approximately 70 people attended these meetings, including those who are still receiving the benefit.
The courses are expected to begin the following month, providing members with new opportunities for training and employment. This extension of the Canoas do Bem project is excellent news for Canoas residents, ensuring financial support and fostering professional growth.
