Bolsa Família: Check the Additional Benefits for October

The Federal Government will soon transfer Bolsa Família funds to Caixa Econômica Federal. This banking institution manages the monthly benefit payments for beneficiaries, who eagerly await the release of the October funds.

Beneficiaries’ expectations do not arise from a single reason, but rather from several. This October, the government will distribute several additional payments to program participants, increasing the installment amount. In fact, some may receive an amount higher than the minimum wage (R$ 1,320).

Understand the Bolsa Família additional payments

Even though the government has not yet disclosed the exact amount allocated to Bolsa Família in October, participants can check which additional payments the government has distributed recently. Since each family has its own composition, each one receives a different amount from Bolsa Família.

See the Bolsa Família additional payments:

1- Basic Income Benefit

This rule establishes a payment of R$ 142 for each family member registered with the Single Registry (CadÚnico). Therefore, the benefit amount is multiplied by the number of family members.

For example, a family of five members receives R$ 710 per month (R$ 142 x 5 = R$ 710). If there are ten members, the amount reaches R$ 1,420 (R$ 142 x 10 = R$ 1,420). This demonstrates that Bolsa Família can exceed the current minimum wage (R$ 1,320), depending on the number of family members.

2- Benefit Supplement

Considering the Basic Income Benefit, families consisting of only one member would receive just R$ 142 per month. However, the government established the minimum Bolsa Família payment at R$ 600.

To ensure the minimum payment of R$ 600 for everyone registered, the government adds to the benefit amount for many beneficiaries. This applies to families of up to four members, who would receive a maximum of R$ 568 (R$ 142 x 4 = R$ 568) per month.

3- Early Childhood Benefit

Since March 2023, the government has distributed R$ 150 per child up to six years old. Thus, families with children under seven years old receive this additional amount, increasing the monthly Bolsa Família payment.

4- Variable Benefit

The government provides an additional R$ 50 for children and young people aged seven to 18, as well as for pregnant and breastfeeding women who are part of the family.

5- Nutritional Benefit

Starting in September, the government began distributing an additional R$ 50 for family members up to seven months old. Thus, families receive an additional amount to improve the nutrition of newborns.

6- Transitional Benefit

This benefit aims to ensure that no Bolsa Família participant receives less than they did under the previous program (Auxílio Brasil).

7- Gas Aid

The last one on the list is Auxílio Gás, which was not distributed in September but will return in October. Basically, the benefit is bimonthly, with payments every two months. In August, the government provided the benefit to more than five million participants, and the same should happen this month.

In conclusion, all these benefits are distributed on the same payment date as Bolsa Família. Thus, those who are entitled to these additional benefits receive the amounts according to the schedule of the country's main social program.

Bolsa Família schedule for October

The Federal Government has already announced the Bolsa Família payment dates

for October. In general, the transfers follow a pattern and take place during the last ten business days of each month. In fact, beneficiaries can already check the October payment schedule.

Caixa Econômica Federal carries out the transfers during the last ten business days, according to the last digit of the users' Social Identification Number (NIS). Therefore, each business day, a new group accesses the amount in their accounts.

Will the government bring forward Bolsa Família payments in October?

In October, the government confirmed bringing forward Bolsa Família payments for two groups: those with NIS ending in 4 and 9.

In fact, the government has adopted the practice of bringing forward payments scheduled for Mondays. Thus, beneficiaries receive the amount on the previous Saturday, that is, two days earlier than scheduled.

The main objective is to make the amount available over the weekend, preventing beneficiaries from having to wait until Monday to access the funds. Therefore, if you belong to one of these groups, celebrate! The October Bolsa Família will arrive earlier than expected.
