Intended for families in extreme poverty, with a monthly per capita income of up to R$ 89.00, and those living in poverty, with a monthly per capita income between R$ 89.01 and R$ 178.00, Bolsa Família amounts vary depending on the number of people in the family, their ages, and household composition.
Bolsa Família payments are made monthly, following the schedule defined by the federal government. Beneficiaries use a Bolsa Família Card, a magnetic card that allows them to withdraw the benefit at Caixa branches, lottery outlets, or ATMs.
Bolsa Família Advance Payment
In situations of public calamity, such as natural disasters, the federal government may bring forward Bolsa Família payments to affected families, with the aim of providing immediate support in times of urgent need.
This year, the government brought forward Bolsa Família payments for 97 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul affected by a cyclone, allowing beneficiary families immediate access to the program’s funds, regardless of the regular schedule.
Benefit consultation and transactions
Beneficiary families can check information about Bolsa Família and access their funds through various channels provided by Caixa Econômica Federal. In addition to the Bolsa Família Card, there is the CAIXA Tem app, which allows users to make purchases at commercial establishments and pay water, electricity, and telephone bills and invoices, as well as make transfers via Pix.
