Bolsa Família beneficiaries receive payments today (10/23); Check the list.

Caixa Econômica Federal resumed Bolsa Família payments for October this week. Traditionally, the program pauses over the weekend and resumes payments on business days.

This Monday (23), a new group of beneficiaries of Brazil's main social program will receive the allocated amount. Now, those whose NIS ends in 4 will collect the payment of the latest Bolsa Família installment.

Beneficiaries can check the amount through Caixa Tem. However, those who wish to withdraw the amount in cash simply need to go to a bank branch to carry out the transaction.

Caixa began releasing the payments on October 18 and will continue making deposits until the end of the month. Essentially, deposits are made on the final 10 business days of each month, aligned with the last digit of beneficiaries' NIS. Thus, a different group sees the credit in their accounts each day.

Bolsa Família disbursements will continue until the end of October, reaching a new group each business day. Today (23), those whose NIS ends in 4 receive the October installment.

In summary, the NIS helps the Federal Government identify which citizens are beneficiaries of social programs in Brazil. Therefore, it is essential to monitor the documents and keep the data up to date to avoid the suspension of Bolsa Família.

What is the base amount of Bolsa Família?

Bolsa Família provides a Citizenship Income Benefit, guaranteeing a payment of R$ 142 per individual registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico).

If we consider this rule in isolation, families with only one member would receive just R$ 142 per month. In turn, a household with four members would be entitled to R$ 568 (R$ 142 x 4 = R$ 568) per month.

However, the Federal Government guarantees a base payment of R$ 600 for each program beneficiary. Thus, the benefit is never less than this amount, unless the beneficiary previously opted for Auxílio Consignado, as the loan deductions are applied directly to the benefit.

This means that families with up to four members, which would theoretically receive R$ 568, have this amount supplemented. In other words, the government adjusts the amount to reach R$ 600.

For families with more than four members, there is no need for supplementation, since the amount exceeds R$ 600. For example, a family of five members receives R$ 710 per month (R$ 142 x 5 = R$ 710). If the family has ten members, the amount is R$ 1,420 (R$ 142 x 10 = R$ 1,420), exceeding the minimum wage.

Additions increase the Bolsa Família amount

The amounts mentioned are the basic benefit. However, Bolsa Família does not limit the amount to be received. Thus, many beneficiaries receive more than R$ 600 due to additional benefits.

• Early Childhood Benefit: since March 2023, each child up to six years old receives an additional R$ 150.
• Family Variable Benefit: provides an extra R$ 50 for children and young people between seven and 18 years old, as well as for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in the family.
• Variable Family Nursing Benefit: starting in September, the government began adding R$ 50 for family members up to seven months old, helping with babies’ nutrition.

In practice, a family with two adults and three children aged 2, 4, and 6 is entitled to R$ 710 (R$ 142 x 5 = R$ 710), plus R$ 450 for the three children up to six years old (R$ 150 x 3 = R$ 450). Therefore, the benefit totals R$ 1,160 per month (R$ 710 + R$ 450 = R$ 1,160).

In addition, the amount may be higher if there are more members eligible for additional benefits, such as pregnant women, babies up to seven months old, or children and young people aged seven to 18.

Auxílio Gás payment in October

In addition to the benefits mentioned, there is Auxílio Gás, which resumed payments in October after a pause the previous month.

It is worth noting that, in August, the government made this payment to more than five million people, and the same is happening now. Thus, families can accumulate all the benefits mentioned, and the Bolsa Família amount still includes the Auxílio Gás payment, which is above R$ 100.

It is important to point out that all these benefits are paid on the same date as Bolsa Família. Eligible beneficiaries receive the amounts according to the schedule of Brazil’s main social program.
