Attention, public service exam candidates! Inmetro has received authorization to hold a new exam, nearly a decade after the last one.
Good news for those preparing for public service exams! On Friday (16), the Federal Government announced that it had given the green light for a new public service exam for the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro). The authorization had been expected by the agency since 2022, but was only granted now.

A total of 100 positions will be made available to candidates with a higher education degree. Of these, 40 will be for the position of Executive Analyst in Metrology and Quality, and the other 60 for the position of Technologist Researcher in Metrology and Quality. See more details below!
Inmetro 2023 exam highlighted
The Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck, announced a total of 4,436 positions across 20 agencies and 14 ministries. According to the minister, the authorizations for the exams will be published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union.
Dweck also mentioned the possibility of a third package of authorizations. “Those that are not released today may be released on Monday or Tuesday,” she stated.
In addition, the vice president and minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, confirmed the authorization for the exam via Twitter. According to his post, the exam will “help increase oversight of our products”.
Inmetro had not held an exam since 2014
In his post, Alckmin emphasized that the Inmetro exam is crucial “to replenish our technical staff, after nearly 10 years without selection processes, reducing the ‘Brazil Cost’ and increasing our competitiveness.”
The last Inmetro exam took place 8 years ago, when three notices were published, totaling 80 vacancies. On that occasion, the selection process was organized by the National Institute for Educational, Cultural and Social Development (Idecan).
The last exam included objective tests and an assessment of qualifications and professional experience for candidates with a secondary-level education. Candidates with higher education were required to complete these stages, in addition to written exams and a training course.
For the specialist position, the evaluations included an analysis of academic titles and scientific and technological output, as well as a public defense of a Memorial and Work Plan.
