Understand how you can check CadÚnico, update your information, and find out what happens if you do not update it! Let’s go!

If you are included in the payment list for social programs, it is essential to always keep the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) up to date. Doing so is crucial because, if the record contains inconsistencies, the Federal Government may consider that the beneficiary no longer meets the requirements and thus decide to suspend the benefit.

Therefore, the person registered with CadÚnico must take proactive action and update the registration in two situations. First, whenever there is a change in any family information, such as income, address, members, among others. The second situation involves the obligation to update it every two years, even if there are no changes to the information.

How to update CadÚnico?

To update CadÚnico, the person responsible for the family must take the documents of all members of the family unit to a Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS). You can find the nearest unit through Mapas Estratégicos para Políticas de Cidadania (MOPS).

Additionally, it is crucial to present a document validating the registration change. If there has been a change of address, you must bring proof of residence. In the case of a birth or death, you need to present the certificate attesting to the situation. If there has been a change in income, a payment statement can serve as proof.

Outdated information in the registry may lead to the suspension of the benefit until the update is completed. Therefore, for those who depend on the amount granted by programs such as Bolsa Família and the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC), losing R$ 600 or R$ 1,320, respectively, can be detrimental.

In this context, it is important to monitor the registry. Today, the Federal Government allows users to check their data on the official page and in the CadÚnico app (available for Android and iOS). On the website, you can check using your CPF and date of birth or perform a more detailed verification with a gov.br account.
