This change applies to fines issued by Detran-SP agents or military police officers. Now, both the vehicle owner and the offending driver can resolve everything online, using the Digital Traffic Wallet (CDT) or the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran) portal. How digital fine transfers work
The first step to transferring a fine is to access the Digital Traffic Wallet or the Senatran portal. The vehicle owner must provide the name and CPF of the offending driver. Next, the offending driver must confirm the designation through the same system. This process must be completed within 30 days of the infraction notice. It is important to remember that, by accepting responsibility for the infraction, the offending driver assumes only the points related to that specific fine.
Legal entities and new rules
For vehicles owned by legal entities, identifying the offending driver is mandatory. Failure to provide this information may result in additional penalties. In this case, the designation must be made exclusively through the Detran-SP website. It is worth noting that, initially, the digital designation service will be valid only for fines issued by Detran-SP. Other issuing authorities in the state will have up to 90 days to adopt the digital process. Thus, digitizing the fine transfer process represents a significant step forward, bringing greater efficiency and convenience to drivers in São Paulo.
