Find out if you are on this month’s list. The Bolsa Família program began its August payments last Friday (18). During this phase, the Federal Government will allocate R$ 14.2 billion, benefiting approximately 21.1 million families.

In August, the Federal Government adds new participants to Bolsa Família
During August, the Federal Government incorporated new members into Bolsa Família. At the same time, we canceled and removed approximately 99,000 families from the social program.
On the other hand, the government included another 300,000 families, which brings hope. The average amount distributed per family also stands out, rising from R$ 684.16 in July to R$ 686.04 in August.
This financial assistance from the Federal Government resumed its activities in 2023, after the transition to Auxílio Brasil, a project led by Jair Bolsonaro. Since its reintroduction in March, 1.6 million families have already benefited. The total number of benefits delivered in August alone shows a notable increase compared with July, which assisted 20.9 million families.
The data point to significant variation over the months. In June, for example, more than 21.2 million families were covered. It is important to note that 2.08 million families are subject to the Protection Rule this month. This implies a reduction in the benefit amount. This provision allows families to remain in the program even when their per capita income exceeds half the minimum wage.
For those covered by this rule, the amount paid corresponds to 50% of the full amount, including additional payments. In addition, this benefit remains available for up to two years. Regardless of family composition, the August deposits will follow a pre-established sequence, as informed by the Federal Government.

Additionally, 99 municipalities located in Alagoas and Pernambuco are experiencing states of emergency or calamity. Therefore, these localities will receive their payments in a unified and early manner. To check whether your city meets this criterion, visit the official link.
Finally, it is vital to mention that Auxílio Gás will also be released this month, with installments of R$ 108. This project will reach approximately 5.63 million families. According to the responsible entity, the Federal Government will allocate R$ 608.54 million for this disbursement.

In addition, it is crucial to remember that beneficiaries have up to 120 days to withdraw the funds, whether at self-service terminals, lottery outlets, Caixa Aqui locations, or Caixa branches.
