How to apply for a loan through Caixa Tem
Caixa Econômica Federal offers a microcredit option called Crédito CAIXA Tem, also known as the Digital Microcredit Simplification Program for Entrepreneurs (SIM Digital). This credit service is intended for Individual Entrepreneurs (informal) and Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) who intend to start or expand their businesses. To apply for the loan, the entrepreneur must have at least 12 months of activity registered with a CNPJ.
Legal Entity Entrepreneurs (PJ) can apply for loans of up to R$ 3,000, payable in 18 to 24 installments, with interest rates starting at 1.99% per month. On the other hand, Individual Entrepreneurs (PF) can apply for loans of up to R$ 1,000, with interest rates ranging from 2.99% to 3.60% per month. They can also choose a repayment period of between 18 and 24 months.
The loan funds can cover expenses such as:
- Suppliers;
- Employee salaries;
- Basic utility bills and rent;
- Acquisition of raw materials and goods for resale;

To be eligible for the loan – Crédito CAIXA Tem, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Individuals who wish to start or expand their business, including beneficiaries of the social digital savings platform;
- Have bank debts of up to R$ 3,000 as of 01/31/2022, excluding housing financing and unused limits;
- Keep their registration data updated in CAIXA Tem;
- Have a Poupança CAIXA Tem account;
- Undergo credit analysis;
- Accept the Loan rules.
For Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI), the additional criteria include:
- Have been operating/established as an MEI for 12 months or more;
- Have annual revenue below R$ 81,000;
- Have bank debts of up to R$ 3,000 as of 01/31/2022, excluding housing financing and unused limits;
- Have a CAIXA corporate account;
- Undergo credit analysis;
- Accept the Loan rules.
Please note that individuals or Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) who have loans or financing with banks or financial institutions exceeding R$ 3,000 as of January 31, 2022, are not eligible to apply for the credit. However, real estate financing contracts and unused overdraft and credit card limits do not count toward this criterion.
