See what's new at My Home My Life

Recently, Minha Casa Minha Vida (MCMV) has undergone major changes that have greatly benefited people. Thus, the exemption from payment of installments applies to those who receive Bolsa Família or BPC (Continuous Benefit Payment).

This program offers subsidies and below-market interest rates and facilitates the acquisition of affordable housing for low-income populations. See below all the details of this great new housing program.

What are the new rules of My House My Life?

It is important to note that these changes are part of a federal government initiative to reduce Brazil's housing deficit. Therefore, check out the new rules for Minha Casa Minha Vida below:

  • Exemption valid for previous payments (for families that have already paid at least 60 installments);
  • Less Bureaucracy: now, with the new rules, families will go to the agencies to complete the bureaucratic procedures and after that it will be necessary to wait 180 days to formalize the payment;
  • Automatic inclusion: those who are eligible will become part of the exemption program within 30 days after the rules are implemented.

Expansion of income brackets

The program's income brackets have also changed, as the subsidy rate offered by the government has increased. In other words, MCMV has become more accessible. Furthermore, with low interest rates and the option to pay in more installments, the program reaches more people.

About My Home My Life

It is important to highlight that Minha Casa Minha Vida is a 2009 program, which emerged during Lula's (PT) second term. However, the following governments, Dilma (PT), Temer (MDB) and Bolsonaro (PL) maintained the project.

Currently, in Lula's third term, the program has changed significantly and has already delivered 10,349 Minha Casa Minha Vida units. In addition, the government has taken back another 16,813 units. By the end of the term, the PT government wants to take back another 21,618 units in 2023.
