Last week, Bolsa Família program beneficiaries received great news: exemption from payment of installments of Minha Casa Minha Vida. However, even though this is good news, many people were confused about the news.
If this happened to you, don't worry, the decision is permanent and applies to Bolsa Família and BPC (Continuous Payment Program) beneficiaries. So, see everything about the news below!
My Home My Life News
With this new measure, those who are part of both programs will no longer need to pay off their installments. In other words, even if the beneficiaries stop receiving the aid in the future, they will not need to pay off the mortgage.
There is also another new development: the federal government has reduced the number of installments required to pay off the contract. Thus, the number of installments has fallen from 120 to 60 months for units in the PNHU (National Urban Housing Program).
Furthermore, the counterpart was 4% for 1% in contracts made by the PNHR (National Rural Housing Program).
Who is exempt from paying the Minha Casa Minha Vida fee?
All those who were registered in the Family Allowance or BPC until September 28, 2023, are guaranteed exemption. Future beneficiaries of the program, that is, those who joined after the 28th, will undergo an eligibility analysis by a financial agent.
A common question that arose with the news is about the blocking of the program, so, in these cases, even if your Bolsa Família benefit is blocked, you are entitled to exemption.
To do this, simply unlock the account and confirm your eligibility to have access to the exemption from payments.
How will the government fund the exemptions?
The federal government must use the money spent on collecting from defaulters under the program to finance the exemptions. Currently, this expense is R$1.4T 300 million, that is, approximately 60% of the FAR (Residential Leasing Fund) projects are in default.
In other words, the Executive aims to stop spending on debt collections, carried out through a contract with the Box and invest the amount in the new exemption measure.
According to executive technicians, the expectation is that the impact of the measure will be zero. The professionals also expect to see some savings due to the change in approach.
