We are already halfway through the week, and Caixa Econômica Federal continues with the disbursements of the September installment of the Bolsa Família. Today, Wednesday (27), a new group of beneficiaries of Brazil's main income transfer program will have access to the benefit amount.

Caixa Econômica made payments to two groups of Bolsa Família beneficiaries this week. In short, transfers are made on the last 10 business days of each month, according to the last digit of the beneficiaries' Social Identification Number (NIS). Thus, a different group accesses the amount in their accounts each business day.

This Wednesday (27), beneficiaries with NIS ending in 8 are receiving payment of the new Bolsa Família installment. Beneficiaries have the option of accessing the amount through Caixa Tem. However, those who prefer to withdraw the money in cash can go to a bank branch to carry out the transaction.

Bolsa Família payment schedule for September

Caixa Econômica began disbursing the September installment of the Bolsa Família on the 18th. Disbursements will continue until the end of this week, serving a new group each business day. Today (27), beneficiaries with NIS ending in 8 have access to the September installment.

See below the September 2023 Bolsa Família disbursement schedule:

  • NIS ending in 1: September 18 (RELEASED);
  • NIS ending in 2: September 19 (RELEASED);
  • NIS ending in 3: September 20 (RELEASED);
  • NIS ending in 4: September 21 (RELEASED);
  • NIS ending in 5: September 22 (RELEASED);

  • NIS ending in 8: September 27 (RELEASED);
  • NIS ending in 9: September 28;
  • NIS ending in 0: September 29.

In summary, NIS serves for the Federal Government to identify Brazilians who benefit from social programs. Therefore, it is crucial to keep personal data always up to date in order to avoid the risk of Bolsa Família cancellation.

Caixa Econômica will make two more disbursements this week for beneficiaries with NIS ending in 9 and 0. Families belonging to these groups should remain alert to access the installment amount as soon as it becomes available.

Amounts paid under the Benefit

In summary, families registered with Bolsa Família have different configurations, including the number and ages of the children. Therefore, each one receives a specific amount from Bolsa Família.

In fact, the program comprises several benefits that determine the amount each beneficiary will receive. This is done because the government seeks to meet all the specific needs of beneficiaries, promoting the inclusion of all groups.

In addition, beneficiaries can accumulate all the benefits, as long as they meet the rules for each one. See below the Bolsa Família benefits for September:

  1. Citizenship Income Benefit
  • This guarantees R$ 142 for each family member registered with the Single Registry (CadÚnico), multiplied by the number of people in the family. Thus, the Bolsa Família amount may even exceed the current minimum wage (R$ 1,320), depending on the family composition.

1. Supplementary Benefit

  • This ensures a minimum of R$ 600, supplementing the amount for families of up to four people that would otherwise receive a maximum of R$ 568 (R$ 142 x 4) per month.
  1. Early Childhood Benefit
  • This grants R$ 150 for each child up to six years of age as of March 2023.
  1. Variable Family Benefit
  • This provides an additional amount of R$ 50 for children and young people aged seven to 18, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women.
  1. Variable Family Benefit for Nursing Mothers
  • Starting in September, an additional R$ 50 is being paid to families with babies under seven months old.
  1. Extraordinary Transition Benefit
  • This ensures that no Bolsa Família beneficiary receives an amount lower than that of the previous program (Auxílio Brasil).

Finally, all benefits are paid on the same date as the Benefit, forming part of the same installment. Therefore, beneficiaries eligible for the benefits receive the amounts according to the calendar of the country's main social program.
