This Tuesday (31), is the final deadline for Brazilian citizens to withdraw from Caixa the annual installment corresponding to the anniversary withdrawal of the Severance Pay Guarantee Fund (FGTS). According to the established schedule, this deadline applies to individuals born in August.
The FGTS anniversary withdrawal offers employees the possibility of accessing a portion of the fund balance annually, during the month of their birthday. However, to obtain this amount from Caixa, the institution responsible for the transfer, the individual must select this option through the FGTS app.

The amount each person has access to varies according to the total accumulated in their accounts, whether active or inactive. Additionally, they can receive an extra portion that grows as the account balance increases.

Who is entitled to R$ 2,900 from Caixa?
According to the FGTS anniversary withdrawal table, to withdraw more than R$2,900 from Caixa, the employee must accumulate a balance of R$12,000 in their accounts. With this amount, the government authorizes the withdrawal of R$151,000 of the total + a bonus of R$1,150. Thus, the employee will be able to access R$2,950.
The employee can direct the money to an account at Caixa or any other bank, ensuring that the account is in his/her name. The government institution requires 5 business days to make the deposit after the request.

Next week, the Federal Government is expected to present to Congress a legislative proposal that could revise the guidelines for those who wish to withdraw their Caixa's anniversary funds. The withdrawal method will remain the same, but the rules regarding unemployed individuals who choose this option may undergo changes.
In this way, several employees will be able to fully access the amounts in their FGTS accounts, which they were previously unable to use.
