The Minha Casa Minha Vida program is opening doors to free housing, a light at the end of the tunnel for thousands of Brazilian families who dream of owning their own home. Launched by the Ministry of Cities, this new phase of the program promises not only to facilitate access to housing, but also to ease the burden of installments for low-income families.
Thus, with significant subsidies and discounts, the new option of completely free housing is an important milestone in the government's ongoing effort to combat the housing deficit in the country.

Who is entitled to exemption from Minha Casa Minha Vida installments?
Not everyone can benefit from free housing through Minha Casa Minha Vida. The criteria are clear: exemption from financing installments applies to those who:
- Receive Bolsa Família;
- Receive the BPC (Continuous Cash Benefit).
In both cases, the contracts must be under the modalities subsidized by resources from FAR (Residential Leasing Fund), FDS (Social Development Fund), and PNHR (National Rural Housing Program).
Therefore, the program focuses on the most vulnerable groups, reflecting the program's commitment to ensuring that the benefit reaches those who need it most.
How do I apply for the exemption?
For families that already have an active contract under Minha Casa Minha Vida and meet the established criteria, the exemption from installments will occur automatically. However, it is worth noting that a detailed analysis of the data by the government system will be necessary.
In other words, beneficiary families will not need to take any immediate action, only wait for confirmation that they are free from future financing installments.
It is worth noting that those who have not yet acquired a property through the program but meet the eligibility requirements also have a chance to benefit from the exemption.
Last year, a decree from the Ministry of Cities transformed the situation for Minha Casa Minha Vida homebuyers. This is because the possibility of a full exemption from the financing amount arose for a specific group.
Before this change, all program beneficiaries contributed some amount toward financing, even if it was reduced. Now, with the exemption, an estimated 750,000 families that were already paying for their homes will be free from installments, providing significant financial relief for many.
