This Monday (26), the June installment of the renewed Bolsa Família will be started by Caixa Econômica Federal for beneficiaries whose Social Registration Number (NIS) ends in 6. An additional R$ 50 is included in the new amounts for families with pregnant women and children between 7 and 18 years old. This increase complements the benefit, which since March had already received an additional R$ 150 for families with children up to 6 years old.
These changes raise the average benefit to R$705.40, the highest in the history of the program, benefiting 21.2 million families. The Federal Government's contribution to the income transfer program this month reaches R$14.97 billion.

What is the impact of the changes to the new Bolsa Família?
The R$ 150 supplement, implemented in March, was made possible by a rigorous government review of the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico), eliminating fraud and canceling benefits for approximately 2.7 million people. However, the government granted a 60-day period for approximately 1.2 million beneficiaries to have the chance to adjust their situations and return to the program.
The addition of R$ 50 for pregnant women and children aged 7 to 18 is part of the program's changes, with the aim of expanding assistance to families with children and adolescents. This addition increases the minimum benefit amount, which is now R$ 600.

What is the Bolsa Família protection clause?
A new feature of Bolsa Família in June is the protection clause. Now, families who find employment and increase their income can continue in the program for up to two years, as long as each member earns up to half the minimum wage. In this situation, the family will receive 50% of the benefit amount to which they would otherwise be entitled.
Beneficiaries of NIS ending in 6 will also receive Gas Aid
On Monday (26), the Gas Aid will also be granted to families registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico), with NIS ending in 6. The benefit is R$ 109 this month and follows the same schedule as Bolsa Família.
