As mentioned previously, one of the requirements to access the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC) is the monthly per capita family income. In this context, before doing the accounting, it is vital to understand that certain amounts are exceptions and should not be included in the calculation. These include:
- Sporadic and short-term benefits and assistance;
- Social security benefit or BPC of up to one minimum wage;
- Salaries of people with disabilities working as apprentices or interns;
- Resources from income transfer programs, such as Bolsa Família (PBF).
Therefore, Brazilians who already benefit from other social programs can have access to BPC without income-related restrictions.
