On October 18, Caixa Econômica Federal began paying the installment of the new Bolsa Família to beneficiaries, according to their Social Registration Number (NIS). This Tuesday, beneficiaries with NIS ending in 0 should receive their payment.
This month, the benefit came with an increase, especially aimed at mothers with babies up to six months old, called “Variable Benefit for Nursing Families”. The additional amount is R$50, with the aim of ensuring a boost in children’s nutrition.
Changes to the New Bolsa Família
In addition, beneficiaries now receive an increase in order to increase family income:

- In the case of the Variable Benefit for Nursing Families, families with babies up to six months old receive an additional R$50;
- For families with children up to 6 years of age, the Early Childhood Benefit guarantees an additional R$150;
- Additionally, the Family Variable Benefit offers R$50 for each child aged between 7 and 18 years old.
What's New in the Program
A significant change to the program is that families with unblocked installments no longer need to go to a branch to withdraw their funds. The amounts are automatically credited to the beneficiary's bank account. This month, approximately 700,000 retroactive installments were released, totaling approximately R$1,402,780,000 unblocked. Beneficiaries can check the information on the release of the funds through the Bolsa Família and Has Box.
Since the beginning of the year, the social program has been renamed Bolsa Família, and the minimum guaranteed amount is R$$600, thanks to the approval of the Transitional Constitutional Amendment. Additionally, the Government has carried out audits of the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government in order to combat fraud in the program.
