Soon, beneficiaries of the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC) may be able to count on new financial assistance aimed at caregivers of people with disabilities. A recent legislative proposal discusses the creation of the Cuida Mais Assistance Program, an initiative that promises to provide R$ 1,000 per month to the legal guardians of these individuals.
Thus, the proposed Cuida Mais Assistance Program is part of Bill 461/24, which provides for the payment of R$ 1,000 per month to caregivers of people with disabilities who receive the BPC. In this way, the idea is to provide more robust support for these families, easing the financial burden resulting from the constant care required.

How the BPC bonus will work
Therefore, the new program will be funded by increasing the Contribution for the Financing of Social Security (Cofins) paid by financial institutions from 4% to 5.5%. This financial measure is expected to raise approximately R$ 13.5 billion, according to estimates by Representative Eduardo da Fonte (PP-PE), the bill's author.
According to Eduardo da Fonte, the proposal is guided by the values of social justice and equality, reflecting the commitment of the Brazilian State to promoting the well-being of all citizens, with special attention to those in vulnerable situations.

Steps for approving the Cuida Mais Benefit
In view of this, the bill for the Cuida Mais Benefit is being processed under the conclusive procedure and will undergo analysis by several committees, such as:
- Social Security, Social Assistance, Childhood, Adolescence and Family;
- Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities;
- Finance and Taxation; and
- Constitution, Justice and Citizenship.
Thus, each stage will be crucial in determining the future of this important project, which hopes to bring greater equity and support to those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
