Desenrola Program: Learn how to register with different financial institutions

Each bank has its own procedures for applying for the Desenrola program. Here, you will learn how to connect with each of them.

On Monday (17), the federal government officially opened the negotiation period for the Desenrola program. This program aims to help people in debt restore their credit reputations in Brazil. However, there are still many questions to be clarified by the population.

Firstly, it is essential to emphasize that the Desenrola program is intended to serve two distinct segments:

  • Segment 1: People who receive up to two minimum wages and are Cadúnico users. It is necessary to have a debt of up to R$1,000, acquired until the last day of 2022;
  • Segment 2: People who earn up to R$1,400,000 and have taken out debts exclusively with banks, also until the last day of 2022.

Currently, the trading process is only taking place for people in Segment 2. People in Segment 1 will have to wait a little longer, as they depend on the release of an official application still in the development process.

For Segment 2, which began this Monday (17), the objective is for the individual to conduct the negotiation directly with the bank. So far, institutions such as Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal and Santander have confirmed their adherence to Desenrola.

The program Unrolls

Desenrola was one of the main promises made by current president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in last year's elections. Among other things, he stated that it would be able to free millions of people from debt. The government's goal is to allow people to have access to credit again.

“We have to implement this Desenrola to help the 72% of the Brazilian population who are in debt. They have debts of up to R$5,000, R$1,000, R$250, R$500 and are registered with Serasa,” said Lula at an event last week.

“We have an obligation to reach out to these people and bring them back into the Brazilian economy, so that they can start consuming again,” concluded the president.
