Circumstances resulting in termination
The benefit with the most records of terminations is the disability benefit, generally called sickness benefit. This is because requesting an extension of the benefit is your responsibility as an insured person, and not the INSS's. However, even after submitting the request properly, many people fail to attend the scheduled exam. As a result, INSS payments are often interrupted.

Another benefit that may be unexpectedly terminated is the BPC – Continuous Benefit Payment. This is because this transfer assesses your financial condition. If there is an improvement and you no longer meet the criteria, after a detailed review, the agency may terminate the transfer.

How to act when INSS is interrupted?
Initially, it is vital to understand the reason for the termination. To do so, contact INSS Central 135 so that they can explain the cause of the interruption. Therefore, if the sickness benefit ended due to the end of the period, you will need to make a new request from the beginning. However, for other benefits, you will need to submit a request for administrative review.
The review is a procedure initiated by the institute itself. You can request it by calling the aforementioned number, or on the Meu INSS website and app (Android and iOS), by selecting “new request”. Alternatively, you can choose to appeal in court. In this scenario, having a lawyer is crucial, as the process will now take place in court, not just with the INSS.
