Scammers exploit anticipation of the Voa Brasil program
With the imminent introduction of the Voa Brasil program, which proposes a revolution in domestic travel with airline tickets for only R$ 200. In this way, enthusiastic citizens are falling into traps set by skilled scammers.
These criminals have developed fraudulent websites that convincingly replicate official government platforms. Their strategy is doubly harmful: they not only persuade individuals to pay for fictitious airline tickets but also collect vital personal and financial data, claiming that an advance payment is necessary to enroll in the program. The irony is that Voa Brasil, scheduled to launch only at the end of October, has not even officially begun yet.

Phishing Schemes Increase with Fake Purchase Notifications
To make matters worse, a phishing scam is spreading in which victims receive notifications of fake transactions on their cards. Thus, these carefully forged messages instruct recipients to call a fake “0800” telephone number, supposedly belonging to the customer’s bank.
At this point, instead of solving the problem, victims end up inadvertently handing over more of their confidential information to fraudsters.
Government Reinforces Warnings and Provides Guidance on Next Steps
In the face of these fraudulent schemes, the federal government acted quickly. Accordingly, the government issued a warning on October 16 to educate the public about the dangers of these scams. In addition to clarifying that Voa Brasil is in the final planning stages and that no registration process has begun or payment has been requested. The government is urging people to report these nefarious schemes.
Therefore, when the program launches, there will be an official registration portal, and no direct communication or third-party intermediation will be permitted, ensuring that citizens can participate in the program without the risk of being deceived. To report scam attempts, people are advised to use the Fala BR website or the official ombudsman's email address of the Ministry of Ports and Airports.
Awareness is the first line of defense against online fraud, and, while the public eagerly awaits the launch of Voa Brasil, it is vital to remain vigilant and well-informed to avoid financial losses and personal data breaches.
