However, some well-known banks, such as Nubank, have not yet confirmed their participation, but according to reports to Folha de S. Paulo, they are considering the situation. The Desenrola program aims to assist millions of Brazilians and improve the country’s delinquency situation.
How will Desenrola work?
The Desenrola program has been promoted for some time by the government’s economic sector and by President Lula (PT). With the implementation of the rules, it is now possible to understand how the program will work.
The Ministry of Finance estimates that there are 70 million indebted Brazilians, and to assist these individuals, two tiers have been established. The first is aimed at people with an income of up to two minimum wages or who are registered with the Cadastro Único. The second is intended for Brazilians with an income of up to 20,000.
A new dedicated platform will be launched in September so that interested people can register and receive the conditions for settling their debts. However, it should be emphasized that only debts incurred by December 31, 2022, will be eligible for the program.

Negotiating Desenrola directly with the banks
Unlike Track 1, individuals in Track 2 will have to negotiate directly with the banks. This means that there will be no third party mediating between the debtor and the creditor. Debtors can contact the participating financial institutions directly through their apps or call centers.
Caixa Econômica Federal reported that it is still evaluating which channel will be most appropriate for debts to be renegotiated with debtors in the program’s second track. Therefore, it is important to wait for more information.
