During a panel on Automatic Pix, Mayara Yano, a senior associate at the BC, stated that the institution is experiencing a human resources crisis. Thus, the launch schedule for Automatic Pix may be changed, depending on internal developments.
This new feature, an extension of the instant transfer system, whose launch was planned for April 2024, is now at risk of being postponed.
New Automatic Pix
According to the information released, Pix Automático should work similarly to a direct debit. With this feature, users will only need to authorize the transaction once and, from then on, payments will be made instantly via Pix.
The Central Bank states that the service will be available to all companies, without the need for a prior agreement, as is the case with direct debit.
In a presentation of the service, Yano explained that users will be able to authorize payments for subscriptions, gyms, water bills, condominium fees, and other bills so that the transaction occurs automatically.
Launch postponed
Originally, the launch of Pix Automático was scheduled for September of this year. However, the Central Bank recently announced a new date: April 2024. Now, with the BC employees' strike, the schedule may undergo further adjustments.
Therefore, for more details about the new service, we will have to wait until the BC officially releases more information. For now, the feature's launch is still scheduled for the fourth month of next year.
