Although Bolsa Família is distributing the highest average amount ever recorded in the history of the social program in June (R$ 705.40), some beneficiary families are receiving only half of this amount, as they are covered by the protection rule, intended for those who obtain a formal job and consequently experience an increase in income.

These families, which are covered by the protection rule, may remain in Bolsa Família for up to two years, provided that they have a maximum family income of up to half the minimum wage (R$ 660.00) per person. Thus, the number of individuals in this condition in June is 738,700.
The Bolsa Família Protection Rule
However, if these families, after two years under the protection rule, experience a reduction in income, or if they have voluntarily chosen to leave the social program, they may return to receiving the full Bolsa Família amount, provided that the head of the family updates the income information in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government.

Finally, families covered by the Bolsa Família protection rule receive the amount according to the official calendar of the social program, which is established based on the last digit of the beneficiary holder’s Social Registration Number (NIS). Check the payment schedule for this month of June:
