Amapá grants advance payment of R$ 1,320 to fishermen
In the conversation with the Federal Government, the participants decided that the ministries will support the state financially to help Amapá overcome these challenges. The governor declared a state of emergency on the 21st, after identifying 10,000 fires in a period of less than a month.

Therefore, the advance payment of R$1,320 to fishermen will come from the budget of the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture. This amount represents emergency aid for the initial two months to add to the closed season insurance, which lasts for 4 months.
This aid therefore benefits artisanal fishermen who cannot work during the closed season for certain species. The value of the closed season insurance corresponds to a minimum wage and IBAMA establishes the duration of this period, considering the reproductive season of each animal.

In addition to the advance of R$1,320 million for fishermen in Amapá by the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, the Department of Development and Social Assistance will also allocate R$87 million to the state for the Bolsa Família program. Therefore, citizens of municipalities with validated decrees will receive the benefit.
In return, the Ministry of Health will send an “emergency kit” containing essential medicines and materials to treat approximately 1,500 people per month.
