Since its launch in 2013, Nubank has been continually introducing new features and services to its customers. One of the features that the purple bank has implemented is called the Protection Pack. This package is designed to provide users of the digital bank with greater protection against all types of fraud.
Basically, this Protection Pack brings together a number of tools that complement each other when it comes to increasing the security of your account. The three main features of this section are Street Mode, Smart Defenses and Scam Alert.

Street Mode
With Street Mode, Nubank customers can limit Pix transactions and transfers when they are away from home. You are the one who sets this limit. This way, when you activate Street Mode, you will only be able to make higher-value transactions when you are connected to secure Wi-Fi networks.
The user will be the one who adds these networks to the Nubank system. This means that when you are using mobile network data, the app will consider that you are “away from home” and prevent withdrawals above the amount you have determined. This function is useful, first and foremost, in case your phone is stolen.

Scam Alert
This feature is used to warn customers that they may be about to make a transfer to an account that is considered suspicious. Basically, before you complete a transaction, a pop-up will appear in the app informing you that the operation is risky.
Nubank uses data from the Central Bank (Bacen) and its own internal system to detect suspected fraud.
Nubank's Smart Defenses
As Nubank explains, Intelligent Defenses comprise an artificial intelligence system that works to identify strange movements. With the data that Defenses collect, the bank can identify if there is any type of abnormal behavior in the victim's account.
This allows Intelligent Defenses to stop potentially fraudulent transactions before they happen.
