Bolsa Família 2023 will have an average increase next month with the introduction of a new additional benefit.
Starting in June, a new amount will be implemented in Bolsa Família, resulting in a further increase in the average benefit amount. Currently, the minimum amount of Bolsa Família is R$600. However, as announced by the federal government, the average benefit amount has increased to R$669.93 since March, due to the new additional amount of R$150 per child up to 6 years old.
The government's forecast is that, from June, when the payment of the additional R$ 50 for pregnant women, nursing mothers and individuals aged seven to 18 will also begin, the average amount will exceed R$ 700.

The Ministry of Citizenship announced that, since the program was revived in March, more than 1 million families have been added to Bolsa Família. These are individuals who meet the criteria to be on the list of PBF beneficiaries, but who were not previously included.
Between March and April, there were a total of 808.2 thousand new admissions. However, in May, the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) included another 200 thousand families, who began receiving the benefit last Thursday (18).

Minister Wellington Dias stated: “We celebrate the addition of one million families benefiting from this. These are families who were facing hunger, people who sought help but could not find support, and who had no access to social programs. At the behest of President Lula, we are working in collaboration with municipalities and states through active search.”
In May, almost 21.25 million families benefited from Bolsa Família, thanks to a record investment of R$14.1 billion.
