The national government and the Ministry of Social Development introduced some innovations for Bolsa Família Program in June. In addition to the R$ 150 allocated to children up to six years old, more monetary benefits will be implemented.
Caixa Econômica revealed that it will issue 7.6 million new Bolsa Família cards with debit functionality, which are already being sent to beneficiaries.

These cards will enable recipients to receive monthly financial assistance of R$ 600, in addition to additional amounts for different groups, such as young people aged 7 to 18, pregnant women, and mothers breastfeeding babies up to 6 months old.
Bolsa Família Card is still not mandatory
It is not necessary to have a Bolsa Família card to withdraw the benefit, although the issuance of the new cards is underway. The card offers extra conveniences, such as withdrawals from ATMs and debit use at establishments.
Those without the specific card can still receive the benefit through other options available in the program.
The benefit amount is deposited at Caixa Econômica for approximately 21.25 million families and can be accessed through the Caixa Tem app.
For those who wish to receive the benefit in cash, there is an option to withdraw without a card at Caixa ATMs. It is necessary to generate a code in the Caixa Tem app to access the amount at the self-service machines.
New cards and in-person withdrawals
It is also possible to make an in-person withdrawal at Caixa branches or lottery outlets by presenting a photo ID. This alternative is available to those who do not have the Bolsa Família card or prefer to withdraw the money in person.
The issuance of new cards with debit functionality aims to facilitate access to the benefit and expand financial transaction options for beneficiaries. However, it is not mandatory to receive the assistance.
The main objective is to ensure that families in vulnerable situations have access to the resources needed to meet their basic needs and promote social inclusion.
