On September 26, the Government of Goiás provided 3,761 social benefits to the residents of Águas Lindas de Goiás, located on the outskirts of the Federal District. The initiatives focus on vital sectors such as childhood, education, professional training, higher education and support for the elderly throughout the federative unit.

At the event, Governor Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil) highlighted the economic impact of these initiatives and mentioned a monthly contribution of R$4.6 million in social cards for the region alone. So, continue reading to learn more about this project and find out who benefited!
Government provides social assistance to Brazilians
Initially, the Secretariat of Social Development (Seds) orchestrated the distribution of benefits, covering the Mães de Goiás program, which grants R$ 250 per month to mothers in vulnerable conditions with children up to six years old (3,131 beneficiaries).

206 Dignity Program cards were also distributed, aimed at individuals between 60 and 64 years and 11 months in need. Therefore, this contingent will receive a monthly support of R$$ 300. Additionally, 424 families obtained the Social Rent card, with a monthly support of R$$ 350 for 18 months.
The Governor also authorized the expansion of the Saneago Water Supply System. Therefore, the initiative will receive contributions of R$1.4T 33 million and will reach 28 neighborhoods. Thus, the Government will create 1,523 new home connections, benefiting approximately 90,000 residents.
Protection of women
Furthermore, in a relevant move for female protection, together with aid, Ronaldo Caiado inaugurated the new building of the Specialized Police Station for Women (Deam) in Águas Lindas.

Consequently, the objective of this government intervention is to combat feminicide and other forms of violence against women, reaffirming the commitment to defending women. Furthermore, the Director General of the Civil Police, André Ganga, highlighted the relevance of Deam in this area.
He also stressed that the renovation and expansion of the police station received funding of R$585,000, of which R$412,000 came from the Ministry of Justice and R$173,000 as a counterpart from the Government of Goiás.
