We are in the final stretch of October, and the final Bolsa Família payments for this month will take place soon. However, the even more encouraging news for many is that their previously blocked benefit installments are now available. As a result, beneficiaries can now withdraw the retroactive amounts.

Generally, to withdraw Bolsa Família, the beneficiary goes to a Caixa Econômica Federal branch with their identification and withdraws the amount at the counter. Another option is to use ATMs with the Bolsa Família card or the Cartão Cidadão. However, these guidelines have changed for those who specifically need to withdraw the retroactive Bolsa Família installments.

How to withdraw the retroactive Bolsa Família payments?

The Ministry of Development and Social Assistance (MDS) held a livestream on October 18 on its official YouTube channel. On that occasion, Caroline Augusta Paranayba Evangelista, the director of one of the departments, discussed the challenges many people face when trying to withdraw the retroactive Bolsa Família payments:

“Before, when the family regularized its situation and the benefit was unblocked, our social account made this amount available. To withdraw this amount, the beneficiary often had to visit a branch (of Caixa Econômica Federal) or use the program’s old yellow card. And this was often not simple. Not all municipalities have bank branches, for example.”

The director outlined how the procedures for paying retroactive amounts were modernized starting in October.

When our technological system unblocks this benefit, it identifies this installment and sends it to the Bolsa Família holder’s bank account. You can see this update in the Bolsa Família app, where the installment status changes from “blocked” to “credited to account”.

Therefore, as clarified by the MDS, beneficiaries no longer need to face enormous lines at Caixa to withdraw Bolsa Família retroactive payments. Once unblocked, the amounts go directly to the holder’s bank account.

If you have blocked Bolsa Família installments and have already completed the necessary updates, pay attention: check your account, as the transfer system is already operational.

Bolsa Família: will there be an adjustment soon?

In October, in Brasília, the celebration of Bolsa Família’s 20th anniversary took place. During these two decades, the program helped many Brazilians overcome poverty.

As the year draws to a close, expectations are growing regarding a possible increase in the amount transferred by the program.

At a press conference after the event, the MDS minister, Wellington Dias, explained to TV Senado how the amount allocated to families is determined:

“The amount we transfer to each family takes several factors into account. We analyze food costs, the minimum wage policy, and factors related to inflation and the currency,” said the ministry’s leader.

Regarding the adjustment, the minister was not conclusive, but mentioned:

“… at the beginning of next year, we will address this. President Lula is sensitive to the demands of the most disadvantaged, but he is also committed to fiscal responsibility. The decision will be made in 2024.”

During the interview, Dias highlighted some milestones from these 20 years of Bolsa Família and the fight against food waste.

“We encourage planned production, focusing on the consumption of Brazilians and also on exports. We are building a network, already in operation, with 274 food banks, aimed at reducing losses from production through storage. When we assess losses from waste, we see that we could feed 33 million people,” the minister highlighted.

Bolsa Família November: check your payment date

If you want to get organized, the Bolsa Família payment schedule for November has already been set.

Payments will begin on November 17 and continue through the 30th of the same month. The dates vary according to the last digit of each beneficiary’s NIS number.

• NIS ending in 2 – 11/20/2023;
• NIS ending in 3 – 11/21/2023;
• NIS ending in 4 – 11/22/2023;
• NIS ending in 5 – 11/23/2023;

Gas Aid: will it be paid in November?

Gas Aid is distributed every two months. Beneficiaries receive 100% of the national average price of a 13-kilogram gas cylinder.

In October, the amount paid was R$ 106.00. Therefore, Gas Aid will not be paid in November.

And what about those who remain blocked?

The MDS shared the Bolsa Família Program schedule, indicating dates for blocks and cancellations. If you updated your information after September 15, unfortunately, you will not be on the October payroll, but only in November.

We advise you to wait for your pending issues to be updated, scheduled for October 31 by the MDS, which is the date the Cadastro Único data is extracted.

If you have not yet updated your registration, go to the CRAS with your documents. However, you will probably only return to the Benefit payroll in December.
