The arrival of the Bolsa Família payment this Tuesday (27) is already a reason for celebration for thousands of beneficiaries. The new benefit installment was approved by the Federal Government for a group of beneficiaries who are eager to access the amount.

In June, the Ministry of Social Development (MDS), responsible for releasing the payments, introduced some changes to Bolsa Família, which resulted in considerable improvements for beneficiaries. These adjustments are related to the inclusion of new additional benefits, which increased the installment amount to an unprecedented level.

Starting this month, Bolsa Família beneficiaries received higher amounts than in previous months. See below the new benefits that began to be granted in June and the amounts received by beneficiaries for each of them.

Increase in the Bolsa Família amount due to additional benefits

In June, the Bolsa Família amount reached the highest level in the program’s history thanks to the inclusion of additional benefits granted to beneficiaries. In summary, back in March of this year, the government had begun paying R$ 150 per child up to six years of age, increasing the benefit amount.

This month, the government began paying other additional benefits to Bolsa Família beneficiary families. See which ones:

1- Benefit for children and young people

The first benefit resulted in an additional payment of 50 reais to a group of Bolsa Família beneficiaries. In summary, the amount was intended for beneficiaries who have a child or adolescent between seven and 18 years old in their family.

For example, a Bolsa Família beneficiary with a ten-year-old child received an additional R$ 50 in June.

2- Benefit for pregnant women and nursing mothers

Likewise, an additional R$ 50 will also be granted by the government to pregnant women and nursing mothers in the families of Bolsa Família beneficiaries.

This means that families benefiting from the social program who have a pregnant woman in their household will be entitled to the extra benefit. This also applies to breastfeeding women or nursing mothers, that is, those who breastfeed.

Can I receive all the benefits?

Among Bolsa Família families who were already receiving the additional R$ 150 per child up to six years of age, a question became common. Many wanted to know whether they could receive other additional amounts related to pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and children and adolescents from 7 to 18 years of age.

To the beneficiaries’ satisfaction, the answer is YES! In summary, those who were already receiving the additional amount of R$ 150 were also entitled to receive the extra amount that began being granted in June, provided that they met all the requirements established by the government.

Payment schedule in June

Payment of the June installment of the social program began on the 19th, according to the Federal Government’s schedule. This Monday (26), another group of Bolsa Família beneficiaries began receiving the benefit. These payments will continue until Friday (30), when the government will make the payment to the last group of beneficiaries in June.

It is important to note that payments are made according to the last digit of the users’ Social Identification Number (NIS). Families benefiting from the program receive the amount through Caixa Econômica Federal, at the bank’s branches or through the Caixa Tem app.

In fact, it is the NIS that allows the Federal Government to identify citizens who benefit from social programs in the country. As payments are made according to the last digit of the NIS, a new group gains access to the amount in their accounts every business day each month.

See below the Bolsa Família payment schedule for June 2023:

NIS ending in 1: June 19 (RELEASED);

NIS ending in 2: June 20 (RELEASED);

NIS ending in 3: June 21 (RELEASED);

NIS ending in 4: June 22 (RELEASED);

NIS ending in 5: June 23 (RELEASED);

NIS ending in 6: June 26 (RELEASED);

NIS ending in 7: June 27;

NIS ending in 8: June 28;

NIS ending in 9: June 29;

NIS ending in 0: June 30.

In short, the program's payment schedule distributes payments over the last business days of each month, following the final digit of the NIS, starting with 1 and ending with 0.
