After submitting the Income Tax return, the Federal Revenue Service reviews the data provided. However, if the IRS detects inconsistencies, the taxpayer may be subject to a tax audit. When this occurs, the refund is withheld until the problem is resolved.

Finally, to find out if you have been included in the tax net, the individual can check the processing summary on the e-CAC portal. If any errors or pending issues are detected, the taxpayer has the option of adjusting the declaration and implementing the necessary changes. This way, the refund can be expected in future complementary batches.
