n an interview with CNN Brasil, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, revealed that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva authorized a provisional measure (MP) that aims to reduce electricity rates. According to the minister, this action will bring benefits to both consumers and the productive sector, with cost reduction.
The measure, still in the drafting phase, has the main objective of reducing sectoral charges and improving the regulation of energy contracts.
Bento Albuquerque explained that the proposal is to evaluate all the issues involved to promote a significant reduction in tariffs, without harming the financial health of companies in the sector.
