The Federal Government has brought forward special credit lines for Brazilian family farmers in the Rio Grande do Sul region. Recent heavy rainfall has affected this area, resulting in flooding and waterlogging on farms, directly impacting agriculture and livestock farming.
Thus, Pronaf began operations to withdraw benefits through Banco do Brasil since last Monday (23). However, through Caixa Econômica Federal, transactions will begin next Wednesday (25).

Credit Financing for Brazilians in Emergency Situations
According to the Minister of Social Communication, Paulo Pimenta, this initiative applies to the 92 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul that have received emergency status. The credit will be granted to Brazilians in two stages. The first will allow for the renegotiation of debts in Pronaf, with a 30% reduction, limited to R$ 15 thousand.

The next step, which will take place starting November 3, involves making special credit lines available to Brazilians impacted by the heavy rains. Thus, the emphasis will be on micro and small farmers associated with Pronamp. The purpose of this assistance is to support professionals and businesses affected by adverse weather conditions, offering financing that can reach R$150,000.
