Recently, the Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS) implemented a significant change to its system, aiming to improve service for insured individuals. This change consists of bringing forward medical examinations for a specific group of beneficiaries.
This measure is especially relevant for those awaiting the granting of the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC) for more than 100 days. With this initiative, the Institute seeks to accelerate the medical assessment process, directly benefiting the most vulnerable segment of the population that depends on these forms of assistance.

INSS seeks to maintain RGPS
INSS, a federal government agency, works together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to maintain the General Social Security Regime. This system is responsible for administering various benefits, such as retirement pensions, survivor's pensions, sickness benefits, among others.
The anticipation of medical examinations, which began on November 20, represents a significant effort to improve the efficiency and speed of service for beneficiaries. Thus, to ensure that beneficiaries are informed about the early scheduling, social security uses various communication channels, including the Meu INSS app, phone calls, SMS, and email.
INSS challenges and responses
Despite INSS efforts to improve service, a high rate of absences from scheduled medical examinations was observed. For example, on November 23, only 18 of 79 early examinations were carried out.
This highlights the importance of beneficiaries monitoring their notifications and attending scheduled medical examinations to avoid the cancellation or denial of their benefits. The effectiveness of this new measure depends on beneficiaries’ cooperation in responding to INSS calls.
