The government of Minas Gerais is about to announce the beneficiaries of one of its social programs, which offers financial aid ranging from R$$ 750 to R$$ 5,000. This news brings significant expectations and opportunities for Minas Gerais citizens seeking financial support for their sports activities.
Government financial support for Minas Gerais athletes
This program, known as Bolsa Athlete, has the main mission of supporting athletes living in Minas Gerais. In this way, the program provides financial resources to cover expenses related to training, sports equipment, and registration for competitions and tournaments. The amount of the grant varies according to the athlete's level of competition. Thus, athletes at the state level receive R$$ 750 every two months, while those with Olympic participation are entitled to a bimonthly aid of R$$ 5,000.
Requirements and increase in vacancies in the program
To become a Bolsa Atleta beneficiary, competitors must register in the program's notice and prove that they have won one of the top three positions in relevant competitions, such as the Brazilian championship in their category. Registration for this year's notice took place between July and August, and the results will be announced soon, on October 10. For 2023, 203 vacancies are available, 179 for athletes and 24 for coaches.
Government payments will be distributed over 12 months, with one installment every two months. This way, the beneficiary is guaranteed six installments of help between 2023 and 2024. It is important to highlight that there was a considerable increase in the number of vacancies compared to the previous notice. Therefore, it has already gone from 157 to more than 200 available vacancies. However, it is worth mentioning that there was no adjustment in the value of the Paralympic Scholarship; the increase was concentrated in the Olympic Scholarship.
The Bolsa Atleta program in Minas Gerais represents an important opportunity for athletes and coaches seeking financial support to achieve their sporting goals. With several categories and scholarship amounts available, it aims to encourage and promote the development of sports in the state.
