More than 300,000 employees will receive most of their 13th salary by November 1st. See the details!

On November 1st, more than 300 thousand employees will receive the majority of their 13th salary. Earlier this month, the Government of Rio Grande do Sul decided to bring forward this portion of the benefit; therefore, public servants will receive 90% of the benefit almost a month before the rest of the population.

The government has also presented a proposal to increase the value of the meal voucher. If lawmakers approve the text, those who already receive it will see the value increase from R$$ 268.84, with co-participation, to R$$ 366.60, without co-participation, later this month. Later, in May 2024, it will reach R$$ 400.

When will the second part of the 13th salary be available?

The advance payment of the 13th salary will benefit 119,000 active civil servants, 167,000 inactive civil servants and 45,000 pensioners, representing an investment of R$1.6 billion in the payment of the benefit to those eligible. Direct bodies of the state public administration, its entities and foundations, whether public or private.

In addition, most of the 13th salary will be available until November 1. However, the remaining 10% of the benefit will be released on December 20, which is the final deadline for companies in other regions to make the second installment available.

In short, the 13th salary belongs to retirees, pensioners and those who have worked with a formal employment record for at least 15 days. In addition, young apprentices make up the group that receives the Christmas bonus.
