You need to know the communication channels. Bolsa Família aims to support more than 20 million families facing financial difficulties. Thus, it makes monthly payments to supplement their income. The Federal Government created this benefit to reduce social inequalities in Brazil.
Currently, the Federal Government sets a minimum amount of R$ 600.00 for families with up to four members. Families with more residents may receive higher amounts. Additionally, they may receive extra Bolsa Família amounts based on their composition.

Here are the benefits offered by the program:
- Citizenship Income (RC) – The program allocates R$ 142 per family member;
- Complementary Adjustment (ACO) – Bolsa Família ensures an additional amount for families whose combined benefits do not reach R$ 600, thus guaranteeing the established minimum;
- Early Childhood (PI) – An extra R$ 150 per child up to seven years old;
- Variable Benefit (FV) – An additional R$ 50 for pregnant women and those between 7 and 18 years old;
- Additional Nutrient (NFV) – R$ 50 extra for a family member up to seven months old. The program starts these transfers in September;
- Transition Supplement (ET) – In specific situations, it guarantees an income similar to the previous program (Auxílio Brasil), valid until May 2025.
To benefit, citizens must register with the Cadastro Único. The government uses this system to collect information and determine which families qualify for the benefit. Additionally, this registration helps the government better understand each family’s needs, enabling more targeted actions.
