Recently, a new platform has been shared on social media by many Bolsa Família beneficiaries, especially on Facebook. According to them, a new app is being made available to inform users whether the social program has been approved or not. However, this may lead to problems.
The platform in question was made available in the Apple Store and Google Play digital stores under the name “Consulta Bolsa Família”. Many users were confused by this app because it differed from the official Bolsa Família app. Therefore, it is important to understand what the consequences of using this platform may be and how it could result in losing Bolsa Família.
Understand the situation surrounding this new app
As mentioned, many beneficiaries shared information about this platform on their social media. According to the posts, these people's status in Bolsa Família had been approved in “Consultar Bolsa Família”. In light of this, specialists in the field were contacted to understand what was happening with these beneficiaries of the government social program and which app was being promoted.
The problem with the platform is that it is not official Government platform. In other words, it has no connection whatsoever with the agency responsible for Bolsa Família. Therefore, unfortunately, it is a scam.
The application was created by people with malicious intentions, with the aim of stealing beneficiaries’ data, as personal information is requested when the beneficiary accesses the platform, such as:
- Social Identification Number (NIS);
- Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF);
- Residential address.
Thus, scammers gain access to private data. Therefore, it is important to know which applications are trustworthy for checking the status of Bolsa Família:
- CAIXA Tem (click here for Android and here for iOS);
- Bolsa Família (click here for Android and here for iOS);
- “Portal Cidadão” website (click here to access).
