- Disability or limiting illness: The child must have a disability of any kind that prevents him or her from participating fully and effectively in society under the same conditions as other people.
It is also possible to qualify for the benefit if the child has an illness that requires special attention from their guardians. - Family income: The per capita income of the family group cannot exceed 1/4 of the current minimum wage. It is necessary to demonstrate low family income to be eligible for the benefit. However, it is worth noting that the courts may relax the low-income requirement in certain situations.
- Registration in CadÚnico: The child and his/her family members must be registered in Cadastro Único. This registration is mandatory and must be completed before requesting the benefit.
Furthermore, it is vital to emphasize that children with mild disabilities, which cause few or no restrictions in their lives, do not meet the standards for granting the benefit. Therefore, it is crucial to demonstrate the child's inability to perform daily activities through the INSS assessment.
