How to register for Bolsa Família in 2023

Bolsa Família is a program created by the Federal Government with the aim of transferring income to Brazilian citizens in a vulnerable state. In 2023, the program underwent changes with the aim of benefiting more families and preventing fraud. Check out the requirements to register for Bolsa Família and the documents needed to register.

Requirements to register:

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Family income of each person in the family less than or equal to R$218 per person. For example, a family with 7 people and a monthly income of R$1,400 has an income of R$200 per family member, being eligible to register for the program;
  • School attendance of at least 60% for children aged 4 and 5;
  • School attendance of at least 75% for children and young people up to 18 years old;
  • School support for children up to 7 years old;
  • Updated vaccination card.

Present the following documents:

  • Marriage certificate;
  • CPF;
  • ID;
  • Work permit;
  • Voter registration card.

Benefits offered by the government:

Currently offered programs are:

  • Bolsa Família, beneficiaries receive R$660;
  • In addition, beneficiaries now receive an increase in relation to the improvements that the Government made to the program known as Novo Bolsa Família.
  • In the case of the Variable Benefit for Nursing Families, families with babies up to six months old receive an additional R$50;
  • For families with children up to 6 years of age, the Early Childhood Benefit guarantees an additional R$150;
  • Additionally, the Family Variable Benefit offers R$50 for each child aged between 7 and 18 years old.
  • Gas voucher, beneficiaries receive R$106;
  • Brazil Aid, beneficiaries receive R$600.
