Important dates for BPC beneficiaries
The schedule for payment The BPC schedule is based on the final number of the benefit, specifically the penultimate digit before the check digit. For beneficiaries who receive up to one minimum wage, the dates are distributed as follows: beneficiaries ending in 1 receive their payment on January 25, those ending in 2 on January 26, and so on, until those ending in 0, who receive it on February 7. This schedule helps ensure that all beneficiaries receive their payments in an orderly and efficient manner.
Eligibility for the benefit in 2024
To be eligible for the BPC in 2024, applicants must be 65 or older, or have a proven disability if they are under 65. In addition, they must be Brazilian by birth or naturalization, or hold Portuguese nationality and reside in Brazil.
Another important criterion is to have been registered with the Cadastro Único para Programas Sociais do Governo Federal (CadÚnico) for at least two years and to have a family income of up to 1/4 of the minimum wage per person. It is worth noting that to receive the BPC, the applicant does not need to have contributed to the INSS. However, this assistance benefit does not grant a 13th salary and does not leave a survivor’s pension to dependents.
