The Ministry of Social Development (MDS) announced that Bolsa Família beneficiaries will be able to confirm installments that exceed the current minimum wage. This adjustment is made by readjusting the benefit formula, taking into account the number of family members, without considering gender or age.
According to the MDS, the initiative aims to establish greater parity in the program, ensuring a more equitable distribution of resources. Many registrants will be able to receive up to R$1,420 per month through Bolsa Família.

Applicants can confirm the amount of R$1,420 for Bolsa Família in October
First of all, it is crucial to understand the structure of the Bolsa Família benefit. According to the renewed guidelines of the MDS, the initial amount of the benefit is set at R$$ 600, ensuring that all families receive at least this amount monthly.
However, a new regulation has revamped the program, allowing families to earn amounts higher than the national minimum wage. This is due to the stipulation of a minimum income per family member.
Under this new regulation, resources will be divided according to the number of family members. Each individual must confirm a minimum of R$ 142. Therefore, larger families will receive higher benefits.
See below the distribution of payments, according to the family structure of those registered:
- Families of four: R$ 600;
- Families of five: R$ 710;
- Families of six members: R$ 852;
- Families of seven members: R$ 994;
- Families of eight members: R$ 1,136;
- Families of nine members: R$ 1,278;
- Families of ten members: R$ 1,420.
Furthermore, Bolsa Família bonuses, granted by the Federal Government, depend on the family structure. Therefore, pregnant women, nursing mothers and young people between 7 and 18 years old can receive an additional R$ 50. Children up to 6 years old are also covered, receiving an extra R$ 150.
