The Federal Government's Single Registry for Social Programs, known as CadÚnico, is a fundamental tool for Brazilian citizens to access a variety of social programs and benefits. With CadÚnico, it is possible to identify the socioeconomic profile of families, allowing the federal government, states and municipalities to develop public policies that meet these needs.
What is CadÚnico?

CadÚnico is a system that contains information about Brazilian families living in poverty and extreme poverty. These families are those with a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage per person, or a total monthly income of up to three minimum wages. Through this registry, the government can identify and characterize these families, enabling the creation of appropriate social programs.
Who is entitled to register with CadÚnico?

Low-income families, i.e. those with a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage per person or a total monthly income of up to three minimum wages, can register with CadÚnico. CadÚnico is also intended for people who live on the streets – alone or with their family.
How to register with CadÚnico?
To register with CadÚnico, the family must go to the agency responsible for Cadastro Único or Bolsa Família in the municipality. This is usually the city hall or the Social Welfare Department. It is necessary to bring documents for all family members: CPF or voter registration card of the head of the family, and any documents of the other members (such as birth certificate, identity card, work card, CPF).
What are the benefits of being registered with CadÚnico?
Registration with CadÚnico provides access to several government social programs, such as Bolsa Família, the Social Electricity Tariff, the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program, among others. In addition, CadÚnico helps identify families that are entitled to receive the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC), as well as programs for exemption from payment in public examinations.
CadÚnico is, therefore, a very important tool for ensuring that low-income families have access to social benefits offered by the government. It can promote social inclusion and citizenship for these families, contributing to the reduction of poverty and social inequality in Brazil.
