The Bolsa Família program, a federal government initiative to assist families in vulnerable situations, recently introduced an additional bonus of R$$ 50.00. This measure aims to further support families who depend on this benefit for their basic needs. Currently, the program serves around 21 million families, offering a monthly amount of R$$ 600.00.

With the resumption and strengthening of the program, the government seeks not only to maintain but also to expand support for families in need. To be eligible for the R$50.00 bonus, families must meet certain criteria established by the program.

Bolsa Família has additional benefits

In addition to the R$50.00 bonus, Bolsa Família offers other additional benefits, depending on the composition of the beneficiary family. These include:

  • Early Childhood Benefit: intended for children up to 6 years old, in the amount of R$ 150.00;
  • Family Variable Benefit: for pregnant women, children and adolescents between 7 and 18 years old, in the amount of R$ 50.00;
  • Variable Family Benefit for Nursing Mothers: for babies up to 6 months old, also worth R$ 50.00.

These additions reinforce the commitment of program in meeting the specific needs of different groups within beneficiary families.

Criteria for receiving the bonus

To be eligible for the Bolsa Família bonus of R$50.00, families must meet certain requirements. Among them is the need to maintain a minimum school attendance of 60% for children aged 4 and 5 and 75% for children and adolescents aged 6 to 18.

In addition, pregnant women must undergo prenatal care, and children up to 7 years of age must undergo nutritional monitoring, including weight and height assessments. Another important requirement is to keep the vaccination record up to date for all family members.
